There are two ways that you can join us…
1. Become a Racing for Sustainability Champion!
Have you ever:
- Stepped on discarded cups during a race?
- Gotten an empty gel packet stuck on your shoe?
- Been handed a plastic bottle of water as you cross the finish line?
- Tossed that bottle into a trash can, along with your banana peel and chip bag?
- Shoved your race t-shirt in a drawer when you got home, never to be worn?
Those are just the most obvious examples of a race’s environmental impact; there’s a lot more going on behind the scenes.
From local 5Ks to major marathons, the running industry generates a significant environmental footprint.
Racing for Sustainability is working to change that. We’re dedicated to promoting eco-friendly practices in the running community and helping races reduce their environmental impact.
By becoming a Racing for Sustainability Champion, you’ll help us raise funds and awareness.
For a one-time $100 membership fee, you will receive:
- A branded Lululemon x Racing For Sustainability tank, made from 100% recycled materials
- Advice on sustainable running that you can use yourself and share with others
- A guide to help you hit fundraising goals with ease
- A personal fundraising page on RunSignup
- The first 25 Champions to join will also receive a signed copy of Becoming a Sustainable Runner
As a Racing for Sustainability Champion, we ask that you:
- Wear your RFS x Lululemon tank when you race (weather permitting, we understand that it may not be feasible year-round!)
- Share about being a Racing for Sustainability Champion on your social media when you join, with a link to your fundraising page (and of course, share as often you’d like to after that!)
- Use hashtags when posting photos of yourself in your RFS tank: #racingforsustainability, #RFSchampion, #sustainablerunning
